Arcades were so fun back then. Even though I was usually terrible at many games it was always so fun.

Yeah I was never a big gamer but arcades were fun. I had Nintendo back in the day but I was more into sports so I was always outside

I'm not into newer video games at all (most recent system I have is a PS3 Slim I got for Christmas 2009), but I still occasionally enjoy retro games. So many games from the NES/SNES/Genesis days are still very fun to play and I vastly prefer them to newer ones.

Yeah I’m old school too. Games like Donkey Kong and Mario Brothers and Super Mario were just fun games. Nowadays I feel games are too violent

I've never been one to fall for the controversy surrounding violent video games. But I find modern games come off as boring and are more about style over substance. Sure many look impressive, but in terms of actual gameplay they come off as hollow. Not to mention how addicting some can get to the point it consumes your life. I had a bad game addiction during my teens and I'm grateful to have long overcome that. I lost interest in gaming around my 20s, of all ages, but it's good I outgrew it at a relatively young age.

I didn’t mean I Fell for the controversy. I despise the media. This is just my personal opinion.

Yeah I know, I'm just saying I disagree with video games being too violent. I find most newer games just don't look all that interesting or fun to me, and are more about style over substance.

Yeah like I said I’ve never been a big gamer so I don’t know too much about them now

I don't even own any of the newer consoles and am not the slightest bit interested in any of them. I still have time for the occasional retro game but newer ones just don't cut it for me. There's some that look kind of interesting but not enough for me to warrant plopping down upwards of $500 for a new system and then spending additional hundreds on just a few games and then even more with things like DLC and microtransactions which to me comes off as a rip-off.

Do you remember your thoughts heading in 2000? I was 16 in 99 and honestly I was not looking forward to the new millennium. I guess I knew subconsciously that things were changing and technology was starting to become more advanced. Obviously little did I know how much things like social media would have a big and negative impact on society. But even though that didnt exist yet in late 99 I still felt things weren’t going to be the same. Looking back 2000 still felt like the 90’s a little bit. 9/11 was basically the final nail in that era and Experiencing it personally I did feel it was the end of a more innocent time and a precursor to what life is like now

I feel like technology has definitely become far too dominant nowadays. It felt like back we had the right balance. How much better and simpler things were without social media.

I think times were so much happier when things like Twitter and Facebook didn't exist. I only use the likes of Twitter and Instagram to follow some celebrities I'm a fan of, but that's it.
There'll never be a better era for television than the 90s for sure. The likes of Nickelodeon, MTV, VH1, Discovery and Learning Channel, Disney Channel, etc. all had so much quality programming back then.

Yeah I miss those tv shows. Married with children, Seinfeld, Parker Lewis can’t lose, walker Texas ranger, and of course tales from the crypt

It's a shame how badly downhill so many of those networks went after the end of the 90s. I blame the stupid reality TV craze at the time.
