Yeah my local store was called Video Visions which was A few blocks away from my home. It was also directly next to my favorite pizza place/Italian restaurant. So it was perfect on Friday/Saturdays

I remember way back in 2000 when VHS was still around and the dominant home video format, there were two local video rental places near us and one was in the grocery store. The grocery store one was huge and had all sorts of cool movies along with video games. I'd rent from there constantly.

That sounds cool. The days before the red box is supermarkets 😂.

I've never rented from a red box, though we have quite a few near me.

The library near me also still rents out DVDs, but I rarely do so anymore as so much of the time they're so badly scratched to the point of not being playable.

It’s funny you mention the library because I just found some old library cards from my youth. I remember for school projects ha omg yo go there all the time. Nowadays you do everything from your phone or iPad or whatever. At the time I hated it now I appreciate it 😂

I'm glad libraries are still around at least, in this digital age you'd think there wouldn't be any around, anymore.

Me too. Kind of the last remnant of the 90’s era.

I still enjoy the feeling of walking into a library and finding a good book to borrow to spend a few days reading. Especially a rare, out of print book not easily found in stores.

Yeah when I was a kid I wasn’t a big reader but as I’ve gotten older I read a lot more. Plus I miss when everyone used books rather than iPads or this other stuff

A used book in a way has it's own character and personality. Like it's travelled a long road before finding it's way into your hands, if that makes sense.

Yeah I agree. Anyways days like today make me miss the 90’s even more. Such a dark day but at least we have memories of how things used to be

I miss a lot of the fads of the 90s as well which take me back. The days of collecting things like Pogs and trading cards, the latter of which I've developed an interest in lately.

Yeah. I mentioned some months back that I had my home movies digitized and it’s been great looking back and remembering things. For example one of my birthdays was at an arcade Which obviously is ancient now but back then was great fun.
