All I know is I miss the days when a cell phone was a big, ugly hunk of plastic you'd be embarrassed to be seen with in public, and people weren't so glued to texting and tweeting non-stop.

Yeah I remember having those giant Motorola phones where you had like 5 minutes of call time per month 😂 so nobody would use it much anyway. The Big tech companies are So powerful and corrupt that they took away so many things that was pure and innocent

I think in the beginning social media was good but now it's gotten to a point it's become far too dominant.

I think in the beginning social media was good but now it's gotten to a point it's become far too dominant . I never liked it but now they basically run the country or at least align themselves with one group and try to censor/destroy another group of people

I have Twitter and Instagram, but only really use them to follow some celebrities I'm a fan of and that's it.

I will never make a social media account. I had a facebook account in 2005-06 just to keep in touch with family members out of state but I quickly got rid of that. As for celebrities their accounts are even worse from what I’ve seen

I use a Facebook to keep in-touch with real-life acquaintances but that's about it. I never had a need for things like tweeting or status updates.

Yeah you’re better off. I can understand do using it to keep in touch with family members. That is what it should be used for. Sadly we know how corrupt and negative they have become

I think in the 90s there was a right balance of just enough technology to provide convenience and enjoyment, and it wasn't dominant in peoples' lives like it is today. I miss that simplicity.

Sadly nowadays free speech has been compromised by Big Tech companies and social media. You didn’t have this nonsense in the 90’s. Things just suck now and will only get worse. That’s why I got my home movies sent to be digitized. It’s great looking back when this game were normal and live was simpler. It’s bittersweet though knowing what things are like now

There's some modern tech that would've been great to have had back in the 90s like DVR, which back then would've surely been helpful with all of the excellent TV programming the decade had to offer. You had a valid reason to be a coach potato back in the 90s.

Honestly I miss having to tape movies or shows from the VCR. I know it’s not as easy as DVR but it’s what separates the eras IMO. Similar to going to the video store instead of just streaming movies from your couch

I miss the days of video stores, especially going to the Horror section. It felt like an adventure as a kid to work up the courage to browse the Horror section and look at the scary cover arts.

It was fun to rent from the big chains like Blockbuster or Hollywood Video, but it was the local or family-run video rental stores that tended to have more obscure or lesser-known fare along with the mainstream work, and a lot of the times you could find good lesser-known films that way. Being able to stream is cool but it isn't the same feeling as actually browsing in a store and seeing what they have.
