I now seriously want to see a meeting between Crypty and Pinhead, it'd just be too funny to see how it'd play out. If I was any good with puns I'd give it a shot. I can only imagine Crypty's puns and how irritated Pinhead would get with him I always felt the Jurassic films were partially Horror, in a way. As a kid they could definitely be something of a big stepping stone for more mature Horror fare later on. Their premise would've been right at home in one of EC's Sci-Fi comics. I always enjoyed Too Cool For School from the animated spin-off, it was cool to see a dinosaur-themed episode officially part of the TFTC canon in a way like that.

Sorry that it took me a while to reply. I would also LOVE to see a meeting between Crypty and Pinhead. I agree that Crypty's puns would irritate the hell out of Pinhead to where he would most likely torture him to no avail. That would be funny AF! Yeah, the Jurassic Park films really do have the Horror element to them. I just wish that was done properly in the sequels like in the first film. Nothing beats the fear and tension in the very first film. The film does have a premise that would've been perfect for Weird Science from the EC Comics. I remember seeing the "Too Cool For School" episode from Tales From The Cryptkeeper and it's actually one of my least favorite episodes even though I like the incorporation of dinosaurs in the story.

No worries, understandable if things like work take away free time. I feel that's been the case lately with me for sure. Crypty and Pinhead together is too funny. I'd seriously attempt puns but I'm so bad at them. Pinhead would probably think being with Crypty would be his own personal Hell and the worst thing that's ever happened to him I think Jurassic Park in a way is undercredited as a Horror film with how incredibly intense and suspenseful it actually is much of the time. It really does play out like a straight-up Natural Horror film with a science gone awry aspect to it, and the premise would've absolutely been at home in an EC Weird Science comic. It seems the newer Jurassic World films embrace the Horror aspects more with the concepts of mankind creating hybrid dinosaurs with deadly results. Some other Horror films that come to mind as being EC-like is David Cronenberg's The Fly remake and it's sequel. Much like Jurassic Park, a cautionary tale of the misuse of science and technology, and The Fly II is especially EC-like in some ways.

It would be his own personal hell if Pinhead was dealing with Crypty, even while torturing him! He would probably think, "How did I wound up in this situation?!" And Crypty would be egging him on and roasting him the whole time. Yes, Jurassic Park is kind of undercredited as a horror film. In fact, I saw on the AMC website, which is where they have a lot of movie lists, that on a horror moments list, this film was on it for that scene where the kids were hiding in the kitchen from those smaller dinosaurs. The Jurassic World films do have a little bit of Horror in them but not by that much. Though, someone described a scene in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom where one of the genetically modified dinosaurs creeping into the room of the little girl is like Freddy Krueger creeping into your dreams. LOL! Yes! The Fly remake and the sequel do evoke EC-like elements. The remake would be one of the more emotional stories from the comics and one of the more emotional episodes from the show.

I really wish we could've gotten a special wraparound that had Crypty and Pinhead together. It would've been awesome and hilarious. If the first three Hellraisers had gotten the TFTC Presents treatment I could've totally seen Pinhead appearing during the last wrap-around after Hell On Earth where he and Crypty have an exchange. Pinhead would probably materialize his chains to tear apart Crypty which he'd probably enjoy. He's beheaded himself a couple of times so being ripped apart by chains would likely be nothing for him and he'd probably love it.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom definitely made an attempt to try to be more Horror-like like the original movie was, particularly during the third act (won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it). Definitely took on a much more Gothic, eerie type of aesthetic and mood. I think as a kid the Jurassic movies can definitely be something of a gateway or stepping stone to more mature Horror fare later on and something of a warm-up for young kids probably not allowed to watch R-rated Horror fare just yet.
Both 80s Fly movies have a bit of an EC-like undercurrent to them. The Cronenberg film feels like it'd be one of the tragic stories, while The Fly II feels more akin to the typical just desserts type of story where the villains get what's coming to them and the monster turns out to be the hero of the piece.

Forgive me for the delayed reply.I wish there was some way that someone could do a "What If" thing concerning Crypty and Pinhead. I certainly hope somebody does this at some point because we have to see what that meeting would be like. I haven't seen the film but I have seen a video by Channel Awesome with Doug Walker(Have you ever seen any of their videos?) reviewing and roasting Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and I know exactly what you're talking about. The third act definitely felt like a crazy B horror movie. I mean, we got cloning, secret sinister societies, and chase scenes. It was all over the place. If it was done right, I think that it would've been an excellent third act. Though, I did like the Gothic-like vibe. You as a kid had the right assessment. At times, the Jurassic Park films do kind of blur the lines of the type of horror that can mainly be experienced in R-rated Horror films. Especially concerning things like people getting eaten alive by T-Rexes. I haven't seen The Fly II but I think I'll check out specifically to see the EC-like qualities it has.

No worries. Understandable if things like work and school have been taking up much time lately.
If I was any good with things like puns I'd try to write a meeting between Crypty and Pinhead. It's hilarious to imagine what it'd be like. Seeing as John Kassir is active online, maybe someone can even suggest it to him. I'm sure he'd have a lot of fun with that.
I'm well-aware of Channel Awesome (not really a fan of their's), but it seemed the newest Jurassic film definitely played on the Horror aspects of the series more. I always felt the series was Horror-y in a way but it seems with Fallen Kingdom they really amped it up significantly.

Someone should definitely tell him about the idea. Indeed. Fallen Kingdom, despite its INSANITY, did play on the Horror aspects of the series. Especially due to the climax taking place in a huge mansion that looked creepy and Gothic looking when it was nighttime and raining. I kinda like that it did but it would've been way more effective if it was well executed.

I'm not sure if Doug Bradley is active on social media but I too would be curious to have his two cents on a meeting between Crypty and Pinhead. If someone could get these two together and they could improvise on the spot it'd be all sorts of cool.
I thought JWFK was well-directed and stylish, but the script definitely left much to be desired. With how inane it gets in parts it has the feeling of internet fan fiction at times. But it has cool moments for sure and the way it ends leaves me curious to see how they handle things in the next film with the premise that's been set up.

I don't think Doug Bradley is on social media, but I could be absolutely wrong. If I am, correct me. In someway, someone should tell him of this idea and see if he'll go for it. It would be cool and fun if he and John Kassir got together and did this project. That's one of the biggest problems with not only Fallen Kingdom, but also most films nowadays! Most movies that were released in the last several years and are currently being released come across as fan fiction type stories! Don't get me wrong. There are a lot of great fan fiction stories that are a million times better than some established material. But the type of stories I'm talking about are the bad fan fiction stories. You would know it when you see it because certain things that happen in the story that comes across as extremely outlandish and confusing without any explanation is a symptom of bad fan fiction writing. And JWFK is one of the latest examples. Yes, it would be interesting to see what happened with the two main characters in the next film now that they have "adopted" the little girl.

I'm sure Doug and John have met at conventions over the years. Who's to say they haven't already done an interaction of sorts between Crypty and Pinhead, which would be awesome if they have.
There's good fan fiction stories for sure but as you said, with some film sequels they end up feeling like the bad or silly kind of fan fiction as opposed to something that's well-written and could easily be a professional script. JWFK was well-made and an improvement in many ways over the past couple or so sequels, but there's still room for improvement in regards to the writing. There's concepts in JWFK that made me scratch my head.

I think that the people who write great fan fiction deserve to become professional screenwriters. Also, from what I heard, the director of JWFK said that he understood that the film had problems and respected people's different opinions.

I'm sure the two would have fun doing a Crypty and Pinhead skit. Which would also be hilarious to see Robot Chicken do, seeing as they're clearly huge fans of Horror and of TFTC by the number of Crypty skits they've done. They're overdue for a new one for sure.
For the next Jurassic film I'd like to see the same director of JWFK return but with new writers. JWFK's directing was fine but the writing really held it back in parts and you could tell with improved writing it would've been considerably better. The fact the same director of Jurassic World (who also wrote it and wrote JWFK) is returning to write and direct the next film doesn't fill me with much confidence :/
On the subject of TFTC-esque Horror films, having seen the first two Scream films again there's times that kinda remind me a bit of TFTC. A dark sense of humor interspersed with the horror aspects but in a way they can be seen as just desserts stories taking into account how the Ghostface Killers always get their's by the end. I'd love to hear Crypty's commentary on that.

This one is perhaps too obvious a choice, but Tales From The Hood is so TFTC/EC-like in so many ways, right down to the just desserts twists in all of the segments. Watched it again recently and it still holds up as a powerful film, and a great companion to TFTC.

In fact, my mother and I used to mistake TFTH relating to TFTC. Lol.
