Even though they ultimately made the right choice to go with Arnold as The Terminator, I always got to wonder how the film and role would've been had Lance been the T-800 as he was originally casted in the role. Cool how both Arnold and Lance have been involved with TFTC.

Just found out that Jack Wohl passed away a few years back, R.I.P. For those who don't know, he was the president of Tales From The Crypt Productions and was responsible for the merchandising rights until his passing. Little information is available about him, but he briefly appears on the From Comic Books To Television doc. Seems like he really cared about the TFTC brand.

Funny thought that dawned on me just now because of my recent Mountain Dew topic, but could you imagine if Crypty had his own soda? I remember back then how popular he was and how Budweiser even used him to promote beer back then. Imagine if Mountain Dew back then had different flavors and they had a TFTC-themed one. What would a TFTC Mountain Dew flavor be like? I could see it being called something like "Crypt Dew" and being lime-flavored which would of course on the packaging be called slime.
Weird thought, I know. Just couldn't help but think about it.

Found that on eBay. Strange how that's advertising the animated series but still uses an image of the live-action Crypt Keeper puppet, given that ABC opted not to use it due to it being too scary for kids.

Happy 80th birthday to Lance Henriksen. He was in two classic TFTC episode (Cutting Cards and Yellow) and his film career speaks for itself with the likes of Aliens, The Terminator, Pumpkinhead, Hard Target and scores of others. I've long been a fan of his and have grown up watching him in so much over the years. Best wishes for a very happy birthday and that he's in excellent health and has many more years left of life. Happy birthday again to Lance, he turns 81 today. Best wishes he continues to be in excellent health and alive for many more years from now.

Earlier today I visited the Goodwill near me and in the section where they have VHS tapes, there was a Demon Knight VHS and a whole bunch of VHS tapes of some of the TFTC episode compilations, which also included the one that had the three episodes directed by Robert Zemeckis (which has Crypty on the cover dressed as Forrest Gump). Definitely brought back a lot of nostalgia seeing those. I remember the days of VHS, VCRs, video stores, etc.

Saw Malignant earlier (awesome movie BTW, I'd definitely recommend going to see it) and it reminded me a bit of TFTC in a way. The killer's face (can't really describe or delve more into it without spoilers and believe me, you don't want this movie spoiled) reminded me of the Crypt Keeper with a bloody face.

With Bordello Of Blood having had such an incredibly difficult and tough production, it seems like a good candidate for Matt McMuscles to cover in a future episode of his What Happened? series. He covers movies and games that had a very troubled production, and BOB's production was notoriously troubled. He's already covered some Horror films on his show, and BOB seems like a good candidate. Here's the Horror film episodes he's done so far: He's open to suggestions for future episodes, so it'd be a good idea to suggest to him he cover BOB in a future episode. Maybe he could do so later this year for October as part of Halloween/Horror material.

Happy birthday to William M. Gaines, the founder and creator of EC Comics including TFTC, on what would've been his 100th birthday. We'd not only never have TFTC if not for him, but Horror fiction today would likely be very different without the massive influence EC Comics had on many prominent Horror writers and filmmakers. Horror fans all over owe a debt of gratitude to him and I'll always be grateful for EC Comics.

I was watching the episode Gone Fishin' from the first season of the animated series and noticed one of the characters is seen with a pipe in his mouth. I find that odd that was allowed given the censorship forbidding any sort of tobacco use in kids' programming and especially with the huge anti-smoking push there was back in the 90s. Funny how that slipped by the censors, which shows how much looser things were back then.

I totally forgot to say this when I created the new sub-forums, but individual episode discussion for the individual episodes of Tales From The Cryptkeeper is also allowed in The Vault Of Horror. TFTCK had a lot of very good episodes for sure, some that are arguably on par with the best live-action ones.

Digging through some TFTC stuff I had on my computer and forgot I had these two rather large images. In the first one you really get a good look at Crypty's face.

I think this was posted here before, but if not, here it is. Very cool to see and I wish we'd get more footage like this from the shoots of all of the episodes.

That was from a shirt by Cavity Colors. Very cool piece of artwork and they made Crypty look really frightening and even threatening there. I'd love to own that shirt but think it was sadly a limited time run.
