I just received my home movies that I sent to be digitized earlier in the summer. My wife and I watched some last night and it’s surreal looking at yourself when you’re 10-12 years old. It’s also crazy how much things come back to you that you haven’t thought about in almost 30 years. It’s cool looking back seeing how different people acted, dressed, spoke, etc. no social media or cell phones in those days lol. Anyway I sent 22 vhs tapes so I have a lot of footage to go through and edit together 😂

I'm sure it's a blast from the past. I wish more footage of me existed from back then.

I still have quite a few magazines from back then I've held onto and reading through them always brings back much nostalgia.

Yeah this past summer I cleaned out so much stuff and found everything from old tv guides(remember those lol) To old newspaper clippings. I found one from the TWA crash in 1996. What’s eerie about that is that I took off from the same JFK airport to Florida about a hour earlier before that flight took off. I still remember seeing that flight number on the board and hearing it over the PA system. I probably also saw a number of those passengers in the waiting/boarding room too

That's sad and scary. I remember the TWA Flight 800 crash and how it was everywhere. Very sad.

Very Scary and Very Sad. Also explains why I dislike planes. When we found out what happened when we landed it hit me like a ton of bricks and I didn’t fly for a number of years. My next plane ride was when I was 18 during spring break with my girlfriend and friends. A few months later I was working in the city when 9/11 happened. After that I swore I wouldn’t fly again and didn’t for a good decade. Over the last 6-7 years I’ve flown a couple times now that I have a family but still don’t like it

I haven't flown on a plane in nearly 20 years. It's hard not to be more than a little weary of flying with all that can go wrong.

I don't think I've flown on a plane since 2000. Such a long time.

I just finished watching the home movies I sent in to be digitized over the Summer and I must say I am extremely happy with the job the Imemories company did. I sent 22 vhs tapes to their base in Arizona over the summer and they did a great job cleaning up the video as best as they could. There are a few videos they couldn’t totally fix but given the age of some of those tapes it’s understandable but still many of them look like they were shot yesterday instead of 1985-95. I showed my wife and kids And they loved them. It’s amazing how things suddenly come back to you that you haven’t thought about in 25-30 years. It’s also bittersweet seeing old friends and close relatives who you either haven’t seen in years or have passed on. It’s funny because my mother was very nervous with me sending the tapes to be digitized because she was afraid they would get lost especially since there were some of when she was a kid but she has started to watch them and now loves that I did that lol. I plan on sending more in next month. So anybody who is thinking about digitizing their home movies I highly recommend it you will be satisfied!!

I'm very happy they turned out so good. Sadly I think there's next to no footage of me as a kid that exists, but I've got a decent number of pictures from my childhood at least.

That’s unfortunate. I’m so sorry about that. At least you have photos

Back then you're not really thinking about preserving things and at that age I wouldn't. If only I could put the brain I presently have into my younger self all those many years ago.
