Absolutely! They should go in that direction in order to make things more interesting for the MCU.
But, again, knowing Disney and Marvel, they most likely won't. They don't have the guts.

And they've sadly go nobody to blame but themselves for that.

With more DC films now being R-rated, let's see if Marvel might feel the pressure to give similar treatment to their edgier characters down the line.

There really are certain characters who can only be done properly without the restrictions of a non-R rating and it's asinine to even think of doing a character like The Punisher or Blade for a family audience.

At least so far the edgier characters like Punisher and Daredevil were treated with respect with their Netflix series. Those two arguably don't really belong in the MCU, anyway.

Hard to imagine characters like them among the colorful assortment of the MCU's flagship heroes. I'd argue someone like Wolverine (especially as he was portrayed in Logan) wouldn't fit in either, and Deadpool most definitely doesn't.

Wolverine and Deadpool wouldn't fit very well in the MCU. And the MCU is such a mess now because of all of that time traveling BS in Endgame, among other things. Also, I've been hearing rumors that Disney and Marvel want to make another R rated Wolverine film and want Hugh Jackman to return to do a team-up with Ryan Reynolds. That sounds awesome. I would love to see those two team up and they have great chemistry. But knowing that Disney is involved, I'm not entirely sure.

An R-rated Wolverine and Deadpool movie would be cool to see but at the same time I totally respect Hugh Jackman's wishes if he wants to move on and have Logan be the end. That movie was such a strong send-off not just for Wolverine but the X-Men films as a whole. I don't think I'd want to see that undone.

And besides, this would be a good opportunity to let the other X-Men characters get the spotlight.

And besides, this would be a good opportunity to let the other X-Men characters get the spotlight. Totally. But I'm not entirely sure due to the way Marvel and Disney are doing things nowadays with the MCU.
