It's well worth your time if you've never seen it, and I think you'd agree it's very TFTC-like in a lot of ways.

I know I mentioned Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives earlier, and watching it again as part of my Friday The 13th viewing, the TFTC/EC-like qualities of it definitely stand out. It has a very EC-like feel to it with the dark humor interspersed amidst the Horror happenings, and there's some shots that are even filmed as if they were panels from an EC Horror comic. I'm not sure if the director has ever said if he grew up being an EC fan and if the EC Comics were an influence, but it wouldn't surprise me. The film came out just three years before TFTC aired on HBO and it almost feels like a precursor in a way to it. It very much has the feel of a live-action EC Horror comic to me and like it could've been a feature-length TFTC episode.
And how fitting and appropriate it also happens to have three actors who were also in TFTC episodes (Tony Goldwin, Bob Larkin and Matthew Faison).

It's one of the few Friday the 13th films that I haven't seen yet.

Without getting expectations up too high, I'd say it's definitely well worth a view if you haven't seen it and enjoy the F13s as a whole.

If you've liked the F13s you've seen so far it's definitely worth seeing. And fear not as it doesn't get as silly and out there as many of the later films do like Jason X, with Jason in Space.

I hope so. And seeing Jason X was enough for one lifetime. I actually fell asleep after about 10 minutes into the movie. No joke. It was actually boring to me, for some reason. I kept nodding off while watching the film. And when I was awake to catch what was left of the film, there were very, very few moments that I actually liked.

I find Jason X to be an embarrassment and I say that as a lifelong F13 fan.

I don't blame you one bit. Jason X shouldn't have been made in the first place. It was dull, wacky in a bad way(and that's saying a lot for a franchise that has a lot of wacky moments but at least they were interesting), it felt out of place within the franchise(the sci-fi aspect shockingly doesn't gell well with Jason Voorhees), and when you really think about it, it makes no sense from a storytelling perspective.

Jason X for me isn't even watchable in a so bad it's good way, it's just plain bad.

Can't remember if I mentioned Wishmaster before here, but I watched it the other day and forgot how very TFTC-like it is in many ways. It too has the feel of a TFTC Presents movie.

It definitely feels like it could've very easily been a TFTC episode or a TFTC Presents film, perhaps even initially conceived as one. The way some scenes are shot even look like they're right out of a Horror comic book. It's hilarious to imagine what Crypty's Wishmaster commentary might be like.

Crypty's commentary would be HILARIOUS. And imagine an exchange between him and the Djinn/Wishmaster. Btw, I found another movie that could be a good TFTC episode or movie. And that film is Dead of Winter.

I can only imagine. A conversation between Crypty and the Djinn would be priceless.
Not seen that film but you've gotten me interested to give it a look.
