I can only imagine. A conversation between Crypty and the Djinn would be priceless. Not seen that film but you've got me interested to give it a look. LOL!!! Crypty would be getting on the Djinn's nerves. Oh, I've seen the film before. I could be wrong but I thought that it was you who suggested the film to me. Again, I could be wrong. Someone in the PM on the old IMDb boards told me to check this film out and I'm glad that I did. I surprisingly enjoyed it a lot! It had a great mixture of horror and cheesiness as well as likable characters and the stakes were convincing. You should definitely check it out.

Oh I have seen Wishmaster, many times. I thought you were referring to a different film, my bad (I was tired when I replied to you yesterday).
Also a neat connection TFTC and Wishmaster share: Wishmaster 2 was directed by the same director who also directed Fitting Punishment from TFTC Season 2.

Yes, he also directed the excellent 80s Horror/Sci-Fi hybrid, The Hidden. Also A Nightmare On Elm Street 2.

I rewatched Brainscan earlier and it's somewhat TFTC-like in some ways. It actually has the feel to me of a collaboration between Crypty and the Midnight Society.

Probably too obvious a choice, but the Tales From The Darkside movie has a definite TFTC and EC feel to it. The movie likely was filmed right around the same time TFTC's first season premiered and TFTC was probably no doubt an influence on it. The second segment, Cat From Hell, is especially very EC-like. Probably due to it originally being planned for Creepshow 2.

The movie of course was originally planned as Creepshow 3, but the studio was apprehensive about using that title since 2 didn't do well at the box office. But you can really see the Creepshow/TFTC influence in Cat From Hell, which easily could've been fitted with Cryptkeeper segments.

Granted it’s very flawed but it has that sort of campy dark humor and also a morality play

But you can really see the Creepshow/TFTC influence in Cat From Hell, which easily could've been fitted with Cryptkeeper segments. I don't believe it was actually supposed to be Creepshow 3. The director even said he made a conscious effort not to have it be like Creepshow with it's style (though it still comes through in the CFH segment). Tom Savini has referred to it as the real Creepshow 3, which probably caused come confusion for some. The Creepshow influence is definitely there, though. It's amusing to imagine Crypty's opening and closing monologues for each segment of the TFTD movie. In my own head canon, I always kind of envisioned the TFTD stories as being unmade TFTC stories. Like stories the Crypt Keeper never got around to telling but lived on in their own way. I've never seen the film Thinner but have been aware of it. It's based on the novel by Stephen King, who grew up being a big EC fan and it definitely shows in much of his writing.

I’ve heard Tom Holland talk about Thinner and the missteps he made. I know the original ending Was much more of a downer but the studio forced him to change it

Speaking of Tom Holland, he directed the original Fright Night, which is definitely EC-like.

I recently watched the 1988 Horror film Cellar Dweller and it's very TFTC/EC-like in many ways, even having something of a dark twist ending. It'd make for a good and fitting companion piece to Korman's Kalamity from TFTC, which it shares strong similarities with.
